Plastic Panda’s

Out now! The latest book of philosopher Bas Haring with photography by Heidi de Gier

november 9, 2011
About the book: Nature is disappearing. Species are becoming extinct and every three seconds a piece of rainforest the size of a soccerfield is cut down. This feels like a disaster, but is it actually? Can a world with only parks and agriculture exist? And would it be enjoyable? This book explores the values of nature and its diversity.

Big Beautiful Noses

May 29, 2008
Cosmetic surgery is becoming more accessible. Due to this, beautiful big noses will slowly disappear. I find this a pity, because people will start to resemble each other more and more and the average will turn into the prevailing standard. This series of photos is an ode to the prominent nose. The series Prominent Profiles can be viewed on my website from today on. And will be published in Volkskrant Magazine this Saturday.
